The left has been clamoring for civil war in Iraq, since before the liberation. They have been just dieing for an American defeat ever since they were successful in losing Vietnam. We never lost a battle in Vietnam, yet we lost the war. We have never lost a battle in Iraq, but that has not stopped the Democrats from trying to declare defeat. Before the war a U.S. General said something along the lines of "Wars are not won by killing enough people, taking enough land, or controlling bridges. Wars are only won when one sides resolve is broken and they declare it is no longer worth fighting."

The Democrats and other leftists have been working overtime to not only insure that they break our resolve, but are rabid in increasing the resolve of the enemy. Lies that state we are in Iraq only to steal their oil, are now part of the Iraqi conscience. They didn’t have the experience dealing with the leftists to realize they always take the anti-West side, even if they have to make up facts. We all heard the same lies 15 years ago before Kuwait. Yet, who is held to account for those lies now that oil is over $70 a barrel?

We will most likely leave Iraq in a mess, that could go either of two ways. Either a civil war will engulf the entire Middle East into religious war fare, or our leaving will allow the Iraqi government to use the necessary brutality against these fanatics that we don’t have the stomach for. But those are posts to come.
