Make a rule, break a rule.  Washington cannot resist buying votes with my tax dollars.  Now Earmarks have been replaced with Phonemarks.  The politicians fund the same pork projects as always, but instead of putting their name behind it or even putting it to a vote, they just call the department and tell them what to do with the money.  The same dirty vote buying as always, just more hidden then ever before. 

I first heard of this from Kai Ryssdal's report on Public Radio, yeah I was surprised to hear it there too.
